DILI, April 19, 2021 (TATOLI) – The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Timor-Leste raises to 673 on Monday, April 19, after the COVID Crisis team (CIGC) reported 62 more infections.
The total number of cases including 60 are in Capital and two in the Ainaro Municipality.
Recoveries shot up by 30 raising the total to 695.
The Coordinator of the (CIGC), Rui Araújo, said that, among the cases registered today, 43 (the equivalent of 69, 3%) were detected following requests for authorization to leave Dili Municipality.
The CIGC also reported the positive cases are added to the confirmed cases only after further validation from the laboratory tests.
Araújo also said that, since yesterday, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has carried out 535 laboratory tests, six of which following sentinel surveillance, 102 of contact screening, 179 of random screening, 245 for leaving Dili Municipality, and three for international travel.
“From the total infections, 39 are men and 23 women. Three patients have symptoms and the rest are asymptomatic,” he said.
Meanwhile, four patients are under moderate conditions and one patient is reported with severe conditions.
Until today, the country has 1,368 confirmed cases since the emergence of the new coronavirus, including 12 municipalities.
