DILI, 08 july 2021 (TATOLI)-The Designated Ambassador of Timor-Leste to the Republic of South Korea, Gregório de Sousa informed that he had a preliminary meeting with SEFOPE’s Direction of National Worker Exterior (DNEE) Directors Filomeno Soares at the Becora National Training Center yesterday .
“I met with the Director of DNEE to discuss data from our workers who are still working in South Korea, to facilitate all information about our workers in South Korea,” said Gregorio at the Becora National Training Center to Journalists of TATOLI News Agency on wednesday.
Gregorio explained this meeting as a meeting for sharing ideas with each other regarding bilateral cooperation, especially talking about Timorese workers who have worked in South Korea.
“I heard from the director of DNEE that many Timorese workers work in the fisheries and agriculture sectors, therefore in the future we will lobby several companies in South Korea to accommodate our workers in the industrial sector and others,” He said.
In the same place, Director of DNEE Filomeno Soares said that he had facilitated data for the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to South Korea to Gregorio de Sousa, to be followed up when he had carried out state duties in South Korea.
“Based on the data, 2890 Timorese have worked in South Korea and 803 people have returned to Timor-Leste because their work contracts have expired, and all documents regarding our workers in South Korea will be followed up by the New Ambassador of Timor-Leste to South Korea,” said Soares.
Meanwhile, the designation of the new Ambassador of Timor-Leste to South Korea will soon be possessed by the President of the Republic and after that he will carry out his country’s duties as the New Ambassador to South Korea in the near future.
