“The Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture has announced all schools in Dili to carry out school activities on the 19th but we haven’t started school yet because we are still cleaning the school grounds because there is still a lot of mud from the April 04 flood,” said Conceição in Fatuhada Elementary School to Journalist of TATOLI News Agency on thursday.
He explained that starting from wednesday – saturday, we are still doing the community service, therefore all classrooms and school grounds would be clean before the teaching and learning process took place next monday.
Filial Elementary School 1.2. has 30 teachers and has 1.317 students from 1.317 of them 711 men and 606 women.
He added that all teachers had been fully vaccinated, therefore they had to continue the teaching and learning process as before but we were required to follow the Health protocol from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Timor-Leste Ministry of Health by continuing to wear masks, keep a distance and wash hands before entering the class room.
In the same place, one of the grade 06 students, Graziela do Santos from the school welcomed and was very happy with the reopening of school activities because it has been almost seven months at home and the lesson materials given by the teachers have been almost forgotten.
