DILI, 3 august 2021 (TATOLI)– The Conservation Center of Flora and Fauna (CFF) in Hera received a total of $40,000 financial support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for the development of the mangrove center in Hera.
“The fund is provided to constructs the partway, toilet, wooden bridges, provided an available place for photographers or pictures and establishes the service center,” The Coordinator of Flora and Fauna Conservation Center, Alito Rosa, told TATOLI today, August 3, 2021.
Mr. Rosa said that the CFF registers 12 volunteers working closely with UNDP from 2019 to 2021 for the mangrove conservation.
He added that CCFF is carried out reforestation activities and 15,000 mangroves were replanting in the coastal area in Hera.
“It is to recovery the area which got damage and result of loss of costal natures,” he said.
This place is also established to provide training for students to increase their knowledge on the conservation of mangroves in coastal areas.
“The CFF is receiving secondary school students and several universities students to carry out research studies on the mangrove ecosystem,” he said.
Alito Rosa emphasized that the financial support is provided for helping young people to have training opportunities in the area of tourism at the Timor-Leste Development Agency (ETDA) to support the CFF.
“ So far Five students have attended tourism training and mangroves security guards training and tour guide training in ETDA,” He concluded.
