F-FDTL releases names of 600 successful candidates

DILI, 15 september 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste National Defense Force (F-FDTL), today, released a list of the 600 successful candidates, of which 11 percent were women.

The majority of the 600 successful candidates are the children of the veterans.

These military cadets had gone through several rigorous tests, including physical and medical examinations, psychometric tests, and oral exams.

“Today, we publish the names of the 600 F-FDTL cadets. These candidates will be integrated into the F-FDTL,” Chief of Staff of the F-FDTL, Colonel Calisto dos Santos “Koliate” told reporters during a press conference at the F-FDTL’s General Headquarters, in Dili, today.

Koliate said the list of the names of the cadets will be distributed to all municipalities across the country to put on the notice board of Timorese National Police (PNTL), Village Office, and Combatants Office: “The list will be disseminated via social media as well.”

Koliate called on those who had completed the test to see their names in their municipality.

“For candidates whose names are on the list will have to present themselves immediately to the recruitment team. So, candidates from Liquica, Bobonaro, Ermera, Aileu, Manatuto, and Baucau will present themselves to the General-Headquarter on september 22, at 9 am. While, for those cadets who are from Lautem, Viqueque, Manufahi, Covalima, and Oe-Cusse will have to present themselves on 23 september, at 9 am,” he said.

Koliate said each cadet must present the Covid-19 vaccination card and be required to have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

“For those candidates who will not turn up on 22 and 23 september will be disqualified,” he said.

Koliate said, therefore, for those who are from the furthest municipalities have to travel to Dili as soon as possible, saying the new cadets will be integrated to F-FDTL base in Hera-Metinaro on september 27.”

“For the unsuccessful candidates, you don’t need to be discouraged, but prepare yourselves to compete for the 2022 intake,” he added.
