DILI, 22 december 2021 ( TATOLI)- The Director-General of Secretariat of Technical for Electoral Administration ( STAE), Acelino Manuel Branco said indelible ink for the 2022 presidential election has already been assembled in Dili.
“The Government cooperated with the UNDP for completed the process of procuring 12,600 bottles of inks that have delivered to Timor-Leste via a special aircraft charter from Copenhagen, Denmark,” Branco told TATOLI at Timor – ‘Plaza, Sui room, Dili.
According to Branco, the ink procurement cycle begins according to the government’s request and a cost-sharing agreement signed in March 2021 adding that The Timor-Leste government provided $360,000 for the procurement of election ink.
“The ink is provided by the international company and has just completed the procurement process with UNDP. the ink meets the requirements after the UNDP COVID-Resilient Elections (CORE-TL) project conducted an Indelible Ink Test with the EMB, STAE, and CNE,” said Branco.
At the same place, UNDP resident Representative Munktuya Altangerel thanked the Government for entrusting the UNDP during the procurement process and ensuring that the ink is quality indelible ink as it has been used in more than 100 countries around the world.
“UNDP thanked the government for entrusting UNDP during such an important period and assured that the expectations of the Government are fulfilled,” said Altangerel.
