Anur Foundation – University of Muhammadiyah Malang to provide master’s degrees to eight teachers

DILI, june 21, 2022 (TATOLI) – Chairman of the An Anur School Foundation, Mohammad Anwar said that his Foundation has collaborated with Muhammadiyah University of Malang, Indonesia to develop the knowledge and capacity of teachers in the field of pedagogy to teach students based on the curriculum.

“So far we have collaborated with the University of Muhammadiyah Malang to send our teachers to complete their master’s degrees in Malang and at the same time several lecturers from Muhammadiyah also come to Timor – Leste every three months to provide pedagogic training to teachers at An Anur School to provide lessons to students professionally,” said Mohammad Anwar da Costa at his office at Masjid An Anur, Kampung Alor, Dili, Tuesday.

da Costa explained that to improve the quality of education in Timor-Leste, teachers must be able to adopt global technology and schools must prepare human resources by providing training to teachers according to the needs of the existing curriculum.

“Currently An Anur has sent eight high school teachers to continue their studies at Muhamadiya University, Malang, Indonesia. The eight teachers took different majors such as Curriculum, Teaching Pedagogy, Educational Management, and Educational Leadership.”

da Costa emphasized that the Anur Foundation implemented this policy strategy with the hope of preparing qualified teachers, being able to adapt to future developments, and being able to transform good knowledge to students and ensure the quality of the education system in Timor-Leste.

“The foundation hopes that the teachers can take full advantage of this opportunity to complete their master’s degrees,” he concluded.

According to da Costa, this collaboration will continue in the future and they plan to send more teachers to study at Muhammadiyah University.
