MAF and TOMAK cooperate to digitalize the data of Agricultural extension workers in  TL

DILI, 15 february 2023 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAF) through the National Department of Agricultural Extension (DNEA) and Toos ba Moris Diak (TOMAK) held the coordination meeting to digitalize the data of agricultural extension worker in all municipalities in across the Timor – Leste.

General Director of MAF, Cesar José da Cruz, said the meeting aim to look together the data of agricultural extension which had collected by the team of DNEA and TOMAK to register in the data. 

“We worked with TOMAK to Support MAF- DNEA to digitalize the profile of every agricultural extension worker to record them in the system,’’ said the General Director of MAF Cesar Jose da Cruz to TATOLI in his office, Comoro Dili on wednesday.

According to Cruz, the aim of entering their profile into the system was to control them effectively and make an online communication to assist their activities in the field. 

“We lack agricultural extension, therefore the digitalization of their profile is important for us to control them online during their services activities,” he said.

At the same place the Program Manager of TOMAK, Evaristo Moniz, said currently TOMAK had to digitalize the data of agricultural extension worker‘s profiles in three municipalities including Bacau, Viqueque, and Bobonaro will continue with other municipalities gradually.

“Currently TOMAK had digitalized 129 agricultural extension workers from the three municipalities who are currently assisting the farmers in three municipalities to increase local product,”
