DILI, 24 february 2023 (TATOLI)- The National Director of Training and Capacity Building of the National Institution of Public Administration (INAP), José de Araujo Chang, said that currently INAP and the Human Capital Development Fund (FDCH) provide a subsidy of $ 700 for each finalist student to develop their thesis.
“INAP and FDCH have collaborated to implement a $700 subsidy program for the finalist students who are currently writing their thesis in pursuing the bachelor degree in the various local universities in Timor – Leste,” said José de Araujo Chang, when interviewed by TATOLI at his office Comoro, Dili.
He explained this program has been implemented by INAP and FDCH since 2019 until now.
“We are implementing this $700.00 subsidy program to support the students to develop their thesis, but not all finalist students have access to the subsidy. There are specific criteria that need to be fulfilled, for example, students must have a 2,75 Grade Point Average (GPA) and above. Besides, all eligible documents must be signed by each university‘s Rector and submitted to the FDCH and the eligible candidate‘s subsidy will be processed by INAP,” he said
Previously this program was implemented by the previous Government with a total amount of $ 500 for each student, when it comes to the eighth constitutional Government the amount increased to $700 from $500.
According to Chang, students that can access this program, are students from universities and colleges that are accredited in this country, such as; the National University of Timor Loro Sae, (UNTL), University of Dili (UNDIL), University of Peace ( UNPAZ), University of Oriental (UNITAL), Dili Institute of Technology (DIT), Institute of Business (IOB), Institute of Superior of Cristal (ISC) and the others local accredited universities in Timor – Leste.
“Approximately 1,000 finalist students have benefited from this program. Therefore the Government through INAP and FDCH will continue this program to support the finalist students to complete their thesis,” he said.
