AINARO, 08 may 2023 ( TATOLI)– The Japanese Government through its Embassy in Timor – Leste together with the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport ( MoYES) and Women Love Family Foundation (FFHF), today inaugurated the Builico school building in Ainaro Village on 8th May 2023.
The inauguration ceremony for the new school building at Builico School in the Municipality of Ainaro, Post Administrative of Ainaro village was hosted by Women Love Family Foundation (FFHF), the local NGO that implemented the project, which is inaugurated by the Ambassador of Japan in Timor – Leste, KIMURA Tetsuya, and the Education Minister Armindo Maia.
Ambassador KIMURA extended his sincere gratitude to the people of Ainaro and FFHF for their excellent work on the construction of the school building.
“I am very pleased to know that now students and teachers have a better sanitary environment with restrooms, and students are comfortable in their new and spacious classrooms, Ambassador of Japan Tetsuya also stated to the students by saying I would appreciate it if you could keep this new school building clean. Learning will enrich your life and expand your future opportunities. Keeping this school building clean will also help your younger brothers and sisters learn in the future,” said Ambassador Kimura Tetsuya said in a statement from the Embassy of Japan.
Meanwhile, this project was provided by the Japanese Government wroth USD$90,825 through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots and Human Security Projects(GGP) scheme.
Through this project, a new school building with three classrooms and restrooms was constructed, benefitting 60 students and three teachers in Builico school.
Since the first project was launched in 2000, 136 projects have been implemented under the GGP scheme in all 14 Municipalities of Timor-Leste.
The projects mainly assist with community infrastructure, including the construction and rehabilitation of school facilities, public clinics, and water supply systems, addressing various basic human needs at the grassroots level.
Meanwhile, The inauguration ceremony was attended by the local government officials of relevant authorities, stakeholders, teachers, school staff, and students in that ceremony.
