DILI, 03 October 2025 (TATOLI) – Incanto International Institute has graduated its first stage of English language trainees, consisting of 18 students who completed a three-month training program.
The training is structured into regular classes across multiple levels: Initial, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, and Intermediate. Admission is open to all levels.
“Today, we graduated 18 students. Our first stage at this center. Among them are 12 young women and six young men,” said Joanico Jerónimo, founder of Incanto International Institute, speaking to journalist after the graduation ceremony held Friday night at the Lecidere building in Dili.
Incanto serves as a bridge
Jerónimo explained that the program aims to empower Timorese individuals by improving their English language skills, enabling them to better serve themselves both in Timor-Leste and abroad.
“We launched this training because many Timorese want to work overseas, but their English proficiency is very limited. Incanto serves as a bridge to overcome this challenge,” he said.
He noted that English remains a major barrier for Timorese seeking opportunities in Australia and ASEAN countries. “That’s why Incanto adheres to international standards and offers foundational UK-based English training. This equips students with the ability to seek employment across Asia and globally.”
The training program began in 2024 and follows a general phase lasting three months, with classes held Monday through Friday, totaling 170 hours.
The instruction team includes 15 trainers from Australia, the United States, and Timor-Leste.
“I believe these students can now speak English –not perfectly, but well enough. They’re eager to improve. While some may not yet have the mindset for leadership, they have the potential to grow into it,” Jerónimo added.
Deputy CEO Manuel Vong emphasized that the program was created in response to the reality that many young Timorese struggle with English, making it difficult to secure jobs both domestically and internationally.
“We opened this training because many of our youth especially university graduates –lack the professional language skills needed to connect with the labor market. English is essential, and we’re committed to providing high-quality instruction,” Vong said.
Conssuela Vanesa Soi Soares, one of the finalist students who participated in the event, expressed pride and joy in completing the program, noting that Incanto’s teaching methods stood out from other centers she had attended.
“I’m very happy. This center is completely different from others. I previously didn’t feel confident speaking English. Now, I finally can,” Soares said.
Incanto takes pride in helping students build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing –guided by passionate instructors who bring innovative teaching methods to every classroom.
The institute is recognized as Timor-Leste’s leading English training center, accredited by City & Guilds (UK) and Cambridge English Assessment standards.
Tuition for the three-month program is $50 per month, totaling $150 for the full course.
