Coronavirus: One of two patients transfer from Tilomar is tested positive

DILI, 1 march 2021 (TATOLI)- One out of two Timorese from Maudemo village, Administrative post of Tilomar, Covalima Municipality has tested positive to the coronavirus disease after being evacuated by the Epidemiological team on february 27.

Public health authorities from their home town were organising medical transfers for the patients because the patients have been contacting with the previous covid patient in Covalima municipality.

Timor-Leste chief Prevention and Mitigation of COVID-19, Rui Maria de Araújo said The Covid-19 authorities were continued to collect the swabs of all of the permanent residents in the Klauhalek Belulik Village, Covalima Municipality that have been having close contact with the positive’s patients in Fatumean.

“The team also performed a health screened to the patient’s friends in Tilomar Covalima municipality, the diagnosed results showed one person in positive to coronavirus,” He said.

The positive person is 42-year-old, remain well and is being working as agriculture extensionist also being housed in Onu Laran, Maudemu village, Administrative post of Tilomar have been contacting with the first coronavirus patients identified on February 13, 2021.

This new imported case, Araújo said, the patient hasn’t been conducting any traveled out of Covalima municipality yet in the context of working as agriculture extensionist, he has been contacting with his friends and population in Tilomar and Fatumean village,” Mr Araújo explained.

This new case indicates the local transmission has already been spreading until Onu-laran, Maudemu village, Tilomar municipality which will bring the possible transmission to the entire Suai city.

” The MoH Vigiliant and epidemiological team has been working with the authorities from Covalima to identify the people who have the close contact with the new patient, “he said.

In Spite the actual active cases is 22 with no death records
