DILI, 23 march, 2021 (TATOLI) – The KIWI flight, operated on a New Zealand Air Force Hercules C-130, landed at the Nicolau Lobato International Airport on march 23, at 09:52 am, bringing the health protective equipment to support the response efforts to the covid 19.
The equipment were received by the The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC), Adaljiza Reis Magno and the New Zealand Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Philip Hewit, the representative of the Ministry of Health and the Executive Director of the Autonomous Service for Medicines and Health Equipment (SAMES) Santana Martins.
Minister Adaljiza Magno represent Timor-Leste, thanked the New Zealand Executive for the support in the fight against covid-19 pandemic in Timor-Leste.
“Timor-Leste still under the hard situation to deal with the new coronavirus, so the support of the New Zealand Government is very important,” Minister Magno said.
Ambassador Philip Hewitt also said that their Government will continue to support Timor-Leste in the fight against covid-19 and for the country’s development.
The equipment received includes visors, gloves, disinfectants, surgical masks, goggles, thermometers, biological waste bags, equipment for mass testing, particulate respirators and boots.
