DILI, 7 june 2021 (TATOLI)– The Representative of The United Children International Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Bilal Aurang Zeb Durrani said, UNICEF will provide 100.800 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to support the immunization program in Timor-Leste.
Bilal Aurang Zeb Durrani commented after meeting with the President of the Republic, Francisco Guterres Lú Olo at the presidential palace today.
“The 100.800 vaccine will arrive this week and this is the largest amount of vaccine support for this country,” Mr. Duranni said.
Mr. Durrani added that UNICEF has provided around 500.000 vaccines to Timor-Leste within this year to preserve and transport to the places far from Dili.
“We also support Minister of Health and SAMES to ensure the control for the chain system the proper temperatures and transport the vaccine to the community in the rural area.” He explained
Likewise, he said, UNICEF has also provided the communication campaign via television, radio, and door-to-door campaign to encourage the public to be able to receive the vaccine.
