COVID-19 Update: ICGC records 56 news cases, 102 recoveries, and 1 death

DILI, 14 june 2021 (TATOLI) – The Integrated Crisis Management Center (ICGC), on Monday, registered 56 new cases of COVID-19 in the country, with 102 recoveries, and one death, while the active cases were 1,489.

Of the 56 new cases, 49 were detected in Dili, while the rest were detected in the municipalities, including 1 in Aileu, 3 in Bobonaro, 1 in Covalima, and 2 in Manufahi.

Of the 56 new cases, 52 were between the age of 12 and 59, including two children under the age of 12 and three elderly persons over the age of 60.

The spokesperson of ICGC, Dr. Rui Maria de Araujo said 17.8 percent of the new cases were symptomatic

Araujo said 26 patients were under treatment at the Vera Cruz Isolation Center, and 4 were in moderate condition.

The ICMC also today recorded another death from Covid-19 in capital Dili.

Dr. Araujo said the deceased was a 62-year-old woman from Maliana, in Bobonaro municipality. The patient had no previous underlying condition, but experiencing breathing problems and coughing for a week before being diagnosed with the Covid-19. She was transported by an air ambulance to Vera Cruz Isolation Center on June 13 and died today.

In the last 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (NHL) had performed 453 PCR tests, including 49 sentinel surveillance tests, 17 through contact tracing, 80 via random screening, 291 were performed following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, 4 for the international travel authorization 12 in quarantines.

The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 5.9 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Dili of 16.3, in Baucau 6.0, and Viqueque 4.9.

The CIGC kept calling on the communities to strictly obey and practice the health and safety guidance that had been applied since the country imposed lockdown in Dili and other municipalities.

There has been a total of 8341 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 6833 recoveries and 19 deaths, according to data of the CIGC.
