DILI, 23 july  2021 (TATOLI)- The Minister Social and Solidarity (MSSI) invites development partners to attend a meeting for the collecting insights contribute for the  “New Generation Bolsa da Mãe” program.

The Minister of Social Solidarity and Inclusion, Armanda Berta said that the aims of this meeting to collect information from development partners to contribute for the program implementation of New Generation Bolsa da Mae.

The main objective of this program is to invest for human resource for the future. It is referred for a baby since still in mother’s womb.

MSSI is just to modify the actual “Bolsa da mãe” program” and transform for “New Generation Bolsa da mãe” program to adapt for the government strategy plan for 2021 to 2025.

“Based on the observation of the current program is not contribute more impacts of society and especially for the children. It is considered just focus on child conditional, thus the MSSI transform to the program for Universal” The general director of MSSI, Rui Exposto said on his presentation, at Hotel Timor room, this Thursday.

He added that based the New Generation Bolsa de Mae will give the impact for reduce on observation mal nutrition and poverty number in Timor –Leste.

He considers that the impact of this program will invest for human resource and the intention is to invest for a child while still in the mother womb.

This New Generation Bolsa Da Mae will be implementing in three municipalities composed of Oe-Cusse, Ermera and Bobonaro.

The resident coordinator of United Nations, Roy Trivery considers this program is most important for Timor-Leste to invest human resource for the future, included of reduce malnutrition, poverty. However the initial program must take one year to ensure this program can be covered to all municipalities in Timor-Leste.

The representative of UNDP, Tuya Altangerel gives his input for the New Generation “Bolsa Da Mae” program. The MSSI should provide a baseline survey to identify, how many child, mother and families are deserved for this program. So the numbers of beneficiaries for this program and able be adjusted with the allocating budgets.

The representative of Australia Ambassador, Carli Shillito said Australia is very happy to work closely with the government of Timor-Leste trough MSSI. It is very important program to reduce poverty and mal-nutrition. Australia government is longstanding commitment to support the policy of Timor-Leste government to bring all Timorese people achieved their bight future.

The representative of Catalpa International David Roach gives his insight that, MSSI should find the substantial of this program. This new generation bolsa da mãe must ensure a child after turn to 17 years old.
