DILI, 03 august 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste, today, registers 118 new cases of COVID-19, with 49 recoveries, and the active cases were 1.084.
Of the new cases, 65 were detected in Ermera municipality, 26 in Dili, while the rest were identified in other municipalities, including 13 in Covalima, eight in Viqueque, two each in Baucau, and Bobonaro, and one each in Manatuto and RAEOA.
The spokesperson of SIJK, Dr. Rui Maria de Araujo said of today’s cases, 33.1 percent were symptomatic.
He said of today’s cases, 109 were between the ages of 12 and 59, including four children under 12 and five elderly persons over 60. These new cases are made up of 73 men and 45 women.
Araujo informed that 18 patients were under intensive treatment at Vera Cruz Isolation Center, where 16 patients were in mild condition.
In the last 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 698 PCR tests, including one sentinel surveillance test, 177 through contact tracing, 158 via random screening, 291 were carried out following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, 36 for the international travel authorization and 35 in quarantines.
The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 7.7 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Ermera 48.7, Dili 5.8 and Viqueque 6.0.
The CIGC reiterated its call on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus as the ICGC’s records showed cases are mounted in Ermera municipality.
There has been a total of 11.100 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 9.990 recoveries, active cases were 1.084 and 26 deaths, according to data of the Ministry of Health.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 39.1 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 13.5 percent have also received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
