DILI, 27 august, 2021 (TATOLI)- United Nations Development Program coordinates with the Ministry of Tourism Trade and Industry (MTCI) providing a Technical Support for Timorese young entrepreneurs in the Innovation Challenge Competition and LOZA DO POVO programs.
The Ministry of Tourism and Trade and Industry (MTCI) is required the assistance of UNDP to provide technical support on selecting young Timorese entrepreneurs groups to participate in the Competition.
The Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP, Mrs. Lazima Onta Bhatta said that this is the most massive significant program that encouraging Timorese young entrepreneur groups which come with innovative and creative ideas to join this program.
This program will help Timorese entrepreneurs in the creation of jobs and helping out the country to reduce unemployment.
“The Young entrepreneur’s Challenge Competition is open to all people who are coming with good ideas and creativity to create products that responding to national and even international market to gain some revenue,” The Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP, Mrs. Lazima Onta Bhatta, told to journalists at the MTCI meeting rooms, on 26 August, this Thursday.
The Minister of Tourism Trade and Industry, José Lucas Do Carno Da Silva, said that this program is offered to all young Timorese people and there is no discrimination.
”The program will be benefited for Timorese people who are having skill and capacity to provide job opportunity with the innovative products,’ Silva said.
Mr. Da Silva added that every year the MTCI is providing an annual program for innovation challenge to encourage Timorese to create innovative ideas that can be valued in the market:’This program involving young Timorese from Agriculture area, fishery, business, technology and among others,’
The Selection of the proposal for the Innovation challenge and LOZA DO POVO will be based on criteria.
“MTCI is expecting the involvement of Timorese groups that have the initiative to manage the LOZA BA POVO with the hugest responsibility, this initiative will be identified through the quality of proposal that submitted to the team,” Mr. Da Silva said.
According to Silva, every year The MTCI places a budget of $.100.000 for establishing LOZA DO POVO and $.42.700 to Innovation Challenge Competitive program.
