MJ  offers training for 130 prisoner guards

DILI, 21 september, 2021 Tatoli – Minister of Justice offers training for 130 guard prisoners in Becora to deal with the mass indiscipline from the prisoners.

The Minister of Justice, Manuel Caceres Da Costa requested all the prison guards to use this opportunity with the responsibility to capture some knowledge for their working performance.

Caceres thanked the team from the Ministry of Justice for realizing this training activity which was fully supported by the Commission of Public Function.

The General Inspector of Inspection and Evaluation (GIE), Lucas Da Costa, said some guards have committed indiscipline in 2019 and 2021, they were transferred to work in Suai and Geleno prisons.

This training program aims to help prisoner guards deeply understand the regulation and use it as a tool to perform their work.

“We are fully supporting this training that helps prisoner guards with some guidance for better understanding about the procedures and regulation and everything concerning the prisons” The General Inspector of Inspection and Evaluation (GIE), Lucas Da Costa told reports at Becora Prison, on 21 September, this tuesday.

At the same place, The Information and Training commissioner, Antonio Freitas said that the prison guards should work impartial and should not become the victim of the political issue that can contribute to committing the indiscipline action and eventually get the punishment.

It is recalled the training has been offered earlier in Gleno and Suai jails and today the training is launched in Becora prison.

The training will be held for 6 days, conducted by PESIK, Public function, GIE, PHRJ, and Minister of Justice. 

The director of Becora Prisoner Guards, Joao Domingos Fatima said in his remarks that it is a privileged moment for them to join the training to enhance the capacity of the guards to perform their duty. 

Currently, 134 Guard Prisoners are working in Becora jail, handled 521 prisoners who are being detained at the Becora jail.
