 DILI, 22 september 2021 (TATOLI)— So far 678.656 Timorese citizens have received COVID-19 vaccine doses, until september 21, 2021, according to the Director-General of Health Service, Odete da Silva Viegas.

The number including the number of those who have received first and second shots of covid vaccines at the national level.

“Until today, more than 55,8% of people at the national level have been receiving the first dose of vaccine, while 37.2% are those who have been completed their both doses of vaccines, since the country starts its first inoculation drive on April 7, 2021,” Viegas told reporters at the Hotel Turismo. 

Meanwhile, the country’s classification table indicates that Dili has recorded a high number of a participant in the covid-19 vaccination with 77% population have been receiving the first dose and 64% have completed their second doses. 

Followed by Oé-Cusse Ambeno (RAEOA) with 68.5% has been accessed for the first dose and 23.7% have completed their second dose.

While in Covalima 65.0% of the population has been accessed for the first dose and 25.8% of people have completed their vaccine. Viqueue recorded 64.3% of participants for the first dose with 34.9% has completed their second dose. 

The report also indicates that Ermera is a municipality with the lowest number of participants in the covid-19 vaccine with 30.2% of people have accessed the first dose and 10.2% have just completed their second dose. 

“29% of the populations are having the fear of receiving the vaccine because they have experienced other diseases that bring fears for them to receive the vaccine,” said Viegas.

The MoH is concerned about the number of vaccines that will be expiring in the short term, however, the number of vaccines at the national level starting to decrease, and the MoH will continue the vaccine down to the municipalities. 

According to figures reported by countries SIJK until today, There has been a total of 19.125 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 17.699 recoveries, active cases were 1.319 and 107 People have died as a result of COVID-19.
