DILI 17 may 2022 (TATOLI) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MoFAC), Adaljiza Magno, informed that the guests from 44 countries have confirmed their presence at the inauguration ceremony of President Ramos Horta, scheduled to be held on 19 of may,2022.
“Up to date, representatives from 14 countries and 30 non-resident ambassadors have been confirmed their presence at the inauguration ceremony,” Adaljiza Magno told Tatoli at the Government Palace, Dili.
Minister Magno said that, leaders from the CPLP countries, composed of the President of the National Assembly of São Tomé and Principe, Delfim Santiago das Neves, the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Parliamentary Affairs of Cabo Verde, Filomena Mendes Gonçalves, the Minister for the Presidency of Affairs and the Civil House of Mozambique, Adelaide Amurane, the Executive Secretary of the CPLP, Zacarias da Costa, while Angola and Brazil represented by the ambassadors.
While the Leaders from the ASEAN countries, Indonesia represented by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mohammad Mahfud Md, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, Vivian Balakrishnan, Vice-Presidents of Parliament, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Banri Kaieda and Hayashi Yoshimasa, will be present, including 30 non-resident ambassadors based in Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
“ASEAN Heads of State and Government will not attend the event as they are currently having a meeting with the President of the United States, Joe Biden,” She said.
Magno added that currently, Timor-Leste is also waiting for the response from the President of the intergovernmental organization of conflict-affected countries (g7+), Francis Mustapha Kai-Kai, current Minister of Planning and Economic Development of Sierra Leone.
The organizing committee led by the Minister of State Administration (MoSA), Miguel de Carvalho, had informed that the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau, Nuno Gomes Nabiam, the Governor-General of Australia David Hurley and the Minister of New Zealand had confirmed their presence at this ceremony.
