DILI, 16 november 2022 (TATOLI) – The National Hospital Guido Valadares (HNGV) collected US$65,716 from the services of VIP medical check-ups and treatments given to foreigners and local patients in the last two months (september-october), HNGV’s Director of Administration, Finance and Logistics (AFL), Raul Humberto Gama has revealed.
“The US$65,716 is made up of the US$32,768 collected in september and another US$32,948 in october,” Gama told reporters at HNGV, in Dili.
“The money would be deposited directly into the Commercial Bank of Timor-Leste (BNCTL) for the state coffers,” he said.
Gama said the cost of VIP medical checkups and treatments varied among foreign and local patients: “Unfortunately, I could not give you the details about the cost of medical checkups and treatments as it is too complicated and varied.”
In october, 1524 visited HNGV’s VIP medical check-up clinic, including 84 foreign nationals.
HNGV executes 70% of its 2022 budget
The 2022 State Budget allocated to the HNGV is US$11 million to build sustainable health infrastructure and ensure good health services to handle the increasing healthcare needs of the country.
Of the US$11 million, US$5.992.132 was allocated for salaries and wages, US$3.915.956 for goods and services, US$500.000 for capital minor, and US$599.787 for capital development.
“So far, HNGV has executed about 70% of the US$11 million,” Gama said.
Last year, HNGV generated more than US$238,989 in revenue for the State coffers.
