DILI, 17 apríl 2023 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste national U-23 football team departs for Thailand to prepare for the 2023 Sea Games that will take place from 5-17 may 2023, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Team manager Lourenço Guterres said 20 players and six officials will stay in Thailand to prepare before flying to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, for the competition.
During their stay in Thailand, the team will have intensive training and friendly matches with various Thai football clubs.
The team will begin training on april 11 and fly to Cambodia on april 27.
João Bosco Halle is one of the players committed to working hard to bring victory in the next SEA Games.
“It is an honor for me to represent my beloved country to compete at a regional level like the SEA Games,” Halle said.
Timor-Leste Football Federation (FFTL) will spend around US$200,000 for the Timor-Leste team to compete in the competition.
Timor-Leste team is in Group A which will play against Cambodia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
