DILI, 25 may 2023 (TATOLI) – The National Parliament unanimously approved the travel plans of the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta, to South Korea, Singapore, and Italy between May 30 and June 12.
During his two-week trip, the Head of State will attend the Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity in Jeju Island, South Korea, as a keynote speaker, and meet with the President of South Korea, Yoon Suk-yeol.
Horta will also visit Singapore to strengthen Timor-Leste’s bilateral relations with one of the most developed countries in ASEAN. His visit to Singapore will take place between may 30 and june 5.
The President of the Republic will travel to Italy, at the invitation of Pope Francis, to take part in the reflection meeting on peace between 8 and 12 June.
Previously, the Parliament also approved President Horta’s visits to Indonesia, the USA, Portugal, Egypt, etc.
“The two draft resolutions on the trip of the Head of State were unanimously approved by the members of the National Parliament to authorize his visit to these three countries,” the Speaker of the National Parliament, Aniceto Guterres, said at the House of Parliament.
