DILI, 01 march 2022 (TATOLI) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEK), Adaljiza Magno, held a bilateral meeting with her Kiwis Counterpart, Nanaia Cybele Mahuta, to talk about strengthening the bilateral ties of the two countries.
During the meeting minister, Magno was accompanied by the Permanent Representative of Timor-Leste to the United Nations Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva, Lurdes Bessa, the First Secretaries of the Permanent Mission, Ralyana Ribeiro and Didina Coelho, and Senior Analyst of the Minister, Carlos de Araújo.
At the meeting, both ministers discussed the Covid-19 situation in Timor-Leste and New Zealand, especially the COVID-19 response and recovery plan.
The two Ministers also exchanged thoughts about the upcoming High-Level Segment of the 49th Session of the Human Rights Council, as well as discussing the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
Minister Magno used the opportunity to present to Minister Mahuta, Timor-Leste’s candidacy to the Human Rights Council for the period of 2024-2026.
